Melanie Burns Brewington

April 8, 2015 Mrs. Melanie Rae Burns Brewington, age 54 wife of Ray Brewington of 244 Lockhart Dr., Lockhart, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Brewington was born in Union, October 9, 1960, a daughter of the late LeBron and Billie Rae Cobb Burns. She was a graduate of Lockhart High School and attended the University of South Carolina, Union. Mrs. Brewington was formerly employed with Wallace Thomson Hospital. She was a member of Lockhart United Methodist Church and was an avid Gamecock fan. Surviving in addition to her husband are cousins, Dawn B. Knox of Union, Andy Burns and wife Jane and Darrell Burns and wife Alisha all of Spartanburg. She was predeceased by a sister, Sara Adair Burns. Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Friday, April 10, 2015 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Merritt Wentz. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service. Memorials may be made to Lockhart United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 127, Lockhart, SC 29364 or to the Union Co.
