Michael Wayne “Mike” Hardin

June 28, 2019 Mr. Michael Wayne "Mike" Hardin, age 66, husband of Connie Humphries Hardin of 1475 Peach Orchard Rd., Union, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2019 at his home. Mike was born April 13, 1953 in Chester, a son of the late Ralph Memory Hardin and Rachel Hughes Hardin. He retired as a Machinist at Timken and previously worked at Union Nursery and Landscaping. He owned and operated Mike's Fireworks on Peach Orchard Rd. for over 40 years. Mike was an active member of Union Church of God. He was a former Volunteer Fireman at Monarch Fire Department. Mike enjoyed coaching his Dixie Youth for many years and later enjoyed watching his grandchildren play. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Surviving in addition to his wife are two children, Brian Hardin and wife Trina and Tracey Hardin Wade and husband Mark all of Union; four grandchildren Peyton Deskins (Katie Davis), Tanner Hardin, Libby Hardin, and Gavin Wade all of Union; two sisters-in-law, Tammie Mace and husband Jerry of Florida and their children, Velda Register and Kevin Mace (Joyce) and Cassie Humphries of Union and her children, Blake, Kaitlyn, and Alayna; and one brother-in-law, Alan Humphries and wife Miriam of Alaska and their children, Mark Humphries and James Humphries. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, July 1, 2019 at Union Church of God conducted by the Rev. Stewart Anderson, Rev. Tommy Brown, and Rev. Kevin Mace. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Jerry Mace, Alan Humphries, Joel Candler, Larry LeMaster, Jimmy Davis, Paul Harrison, Francis Ramsey, and Joel Rosson. The following are asked to sit in a group and form the honorary escort, the Men's Sunday School Class of Union Church of God, David and Harriett Eaves, Terry and Linda Mitchell, Sammy Kerhulas, and Squeaky Roark. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM prior to the services at the church. The family would like to thank Dr. David Keith and the Nurses and staff of MSA Hospice.
