Michael Robert Petty

June 6 , 2018 Mr. Michael Robert Petty, age 70, of 1109 W. Main St., Union, passed away, Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Rainey Hospice House of Anderson. Mr. Petty was born in Buffalo July 9, 1947 a son of the late Robert and Waunet Smith Petty. He was a veteran of the US Army having served as a medic in Germany during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Petty was a graduate of Union High School and Spartanburg Methodist College following Military Service. He was retired from Milliken & Co. as Department Manager. Mr. Petty was a member of Buffalo United Methodist Church. Surviving are one daughter, Amanda Lowe and husband Eric of Honea Path; a son, Chris Petty of Honea Path; two grandchildren Garrett Lowe and Kara Lowe; a beloved pet cat, Fonzie; an uncle, Glenn Caldwell of Buffalo; and three cousins, Amy Crisp, Tommy Robertson and wife Kathy, and Terry Robertson, all of Buffalo. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held 2:00 PM Friday, June 8, 2018 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Jennifer Trammell.
