Michael Douglas Sumner

Mr. Michael Douglas Sumner, age 69, of 1817 Jonesville Hwy., Union passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020.

Mr. Sumner was born July 31, 1951 in Union, SC, a son of the late Herbert Lee "JR" Sumner, Jr. and Lula "Ophelia" Stepp Sumner. He was a graduate of Union High School and a veteran of the United States Army reserves. He also was a member of the former Westside Baptist church. Mr. Sumner enjoyed and played baseball as a boy and continued his love for sports by playing adult league softball.

Surviving are a daughter, Tara "Micki" Sumner of Spartanburg and a brother, Dennis Sumner and wife Patsy of Jonesville.  Mr. Sumner was predeceased by a brother, Jerry Sumner and a sister, Tina Gale Sumner.

Services will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at the S.R. Holcombe Chapel conducted by the Rev. Johnny Burgess.

The family are at their respective homes.
