Michael W. Wells

Mr. Michael W. Wells, age 67, widower of Linnie Posey Wells, of 330 Johns St., Union, passed away Monday, November 6, 2017 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Wells was born in Union, July 14, 1950, a son of the late John Isaac Wells and Julia Mae Linder Wells. He retired from Gestamp and had previously worked in the textile industry for 40 years. Mr. Wells was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are two sons: Mike Wells and wife Kristin of North Augusta and Heath Wells and wife Allie of Buffalo; one brother: W. Howard Wells and wife Wanda of Union and his loving grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Welcome Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Jarvis. Entombment will be at Union Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Active pallbearers will be Kole Howell, Cam Jones, Brady Jones, Chance Howell, David Jones and Paul "Buddy" Hogan. The following are asked to serve as the honorary escorts: David Berry, Billy Keisler, Dennis Wyatt and Jerry Smith. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:30 until 8:30 PM at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Welcome Baptist Church, 206 Nichols Ave., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home of his brother, Howard and Wanda Wells, 141 Toney Rd., Union.
