Mrs. Mildred V. Jolly, age 94, of 3333 Lockhart Highway, Union, widow of Earl V. Jolly passed away Wednesday January 3, 2018 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Center. Mrs. Jolly was born in Union, July 16, 1923, a daughter of the late William Smith Vaughan and Maude Palmer Vaughan Stines. Mrs. Jolly is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Jolly had formally worked in the textile industry for many years and owned and operated Browns Creek Fish Camp with her husband for 25 years. She was a former member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church and a faithful member of Philippi Baptist Church until her health failed. Mrs. Jolly was strong in her faith and love of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mrs. Jolly loved her Church family. She is survived by her loving family, a son William A. Jolly and wife Martha of Union; two daughters, Beverly J. Funderburk and Wanda J. Wells and husband Howard all of Union; two granddaughters, Laura J. Vasilev and husband Ray of Longs, SC and Brandy N. Drinkard and husband Mike of Lexington, SC; six great-grandchildren, Coleman Ferrell of Union, David Horlacher of Texas, Will Horlacher of Jonesville, Caleb Jones, Sydney Jones and Justin Drinkard all of Lexington, SC; one sister-in-law, Frances Y. Vaughan of Union; and a host of nieces and nephews of whom she loved dearly. She was predeceased by three brothers, Arthur Vaughan, Issac Vaughan, and Earl Vaughan and two sisters Lucille Harris and Opal Stines of Union. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, January 5, 2017 at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Robert Scott and Rev. Brian Redding. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Coleman Ferrell, David Horlacher, Will Horlacher, Caleb Jones, Ricky Pridemore, and Bobby Horne. The following are asked to form the honorary escort, Tommy Knox, Boyd McAbee, Wanda All, Anne Patrick, Ronnie O'Dell, and Danny Horlacher. Visitation will be held 1:30 until 2:45 PM Friday prior to the services at the Church. Memorials may be made Philippi Baptist Church Debt Retirement Fund, 327 Philippi Church Rd., Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home of her son, William A. Jolly and wife Martha, 204 Browns Creek Church Road, Union.
