Muriel Wade Mitchell

Mrs. Muriel Wade Mitchell, age 84, formerly of Hillcrest Dr., passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Heartland of Union Nursing Center. Mrs. Mitchell was the widow of Bobby G. Mitchell. Born in Union, April 24, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Linder and Gertrude Bryant Wade. She retired as a communication specialist with Anaconda in Lexington, SC where she and her husband had lived a number of years. Mrs. Wade was a member of New Life Baptist Church where she was a member of the Young at Heart Sunday school class. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Mitchell was predeceased by her son, Bruce Anthony "Tony" Mitchell, and a number of brothers and sisters. She is survived by several nieces and nephews including a niece Debra Baber Adams and her husband Talmadge of Union. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, July 10, 2017 at New Life Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Shannon Faulkner and Rev. Tim Driggers. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be the following nephews; Richard Brown, John Carter, Niel McKeown, Roger Wade, Tim Wade and Stanley Moody. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 1311 Mamaroneck Ave., Ste. 310, White Plains, NY 10605. The family will be at the home of Debra and Talmadge Adams, 755 Webber Lake Rd., Union.
