Nancy J. Hill

Mrs. Nancy J. Johnson Hill, age 63, of 536 Vanderford Rd., Union, passed gently into God's care on Tuesday, December 6, 2016. Mrs. Hill was born on August 21, 1953 in Union, SC, the daughter of the late Everode L. Johnson and Katie Vaughan Johnson. She worked for Timken Company until her retirement in 2009. She was a devout member of Philippi Baptist Church, where she served as the Church Pianist for many years. She is survived by her husband, Jerome R. Hill of the home and her sister, Teresa S. Vanderford and husband Keith of Union, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Brad Goodale and Rev. Brian Redding. Visitation will be held prior to the services from 1:00 until 2:45 PM at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jamison Taylor, Terry Bentley, Alfred Belk, Steve Gibson, Neil Howell, Mark Ivey, Ervin Lewis and Ray Finch. Deacons, Choir member and Orchestra members are asked to form the honorary escort. Memorials may be made to Philippi Baptist Church, Children's Wing, 327 Philippi Church Rd., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home of her sister, Teresa S. Vanderford, 574 Vanderford Rd., Union.
