Nancy T. Smith

Mrs. Nancy Thompson Smith, age 78, of 252 Webber Lake Rd., Union, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at the Spartanburg Medical Center.

Mrs. Smith was born in Union, August 7, 1944, a daughter of the late Barney Lee Thompson and Juanita Smith Thompson. She was retired from Milliken and Co., Monarch Plant and was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who never met a stranger and was always willing to help others.

Surviving are a daughter, Beverly J. Carter; a son, Ronnie Dean Carter and wife Debbie all of Union; a grandson, Matthew Aaron Carter and wife Jessica of Goose Creek; a great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Carter; a sister, Diane Lipsey and a sister-in-law, Brenda Thompson both of Union. She was predeceased by a brother, Carl Lee Thompson.

Mrs. Smith was lovingly cared for in her home by her daughter and caregivers, Ashley Norman, Beth Walker and Linda Parkins, to whom the family is grateful for their care and compassion.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Mark Truitt. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 901 S. Pine St., Spartanburg, SC 29302.

The family will be at the home, 252 Webber Lake Rd., Union.
