November 19, 2017 Mrs. Nannie Lee Boling Rochester, age 94 widow of Rueben P. Rochester of 139 Seigler Rd., Union passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Union Medical Center. Mrs. Rochester was born in Union November 2, 1923 a daughter of the late James William and Callie Lybrand Boling. She was a graduate of Union High School and previously worked as a telephone operator. Mrs. Rochester was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother that was dedicated to the Lord. She was member of the Duncan Acres United Methodist Church. Mrs. Rochester was an active member in the United Methodist Women at three churches, Friendship Circle at Duncan Acres UMC, Eva Sanders Circle at Buffalo UMC, and Johnny Sanders Circle at Grace UMC. She was a member of the Mary Lybrand Sunday school at Duncan Acres. She taught Sunday school for many years at Grace and Buffalo United Methodist Churches. She was an active member of the Union County Family and Community Leaders service club sponsored by Clemson University. Her special ministry was sending cards to her friends and family. She sent an average of twenty cards a month to uplift, share sympathy, or celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. The last survivor of her immediate family she is survived by her son, William "Bill" Rochester and wife, Rebecca of Union; her grandson, Richard Rochester and wife Kelly of Boiling Springs; and her great-grandson, Ian Rochester of Ohio. Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Duncan Acres United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Merritt Wentz and Rev. David Bauknight. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens. The following are asked to sit in a group, members of the Union County Family and Community Leaders service group, Friendship Circle of Duncan Acres UMC; Eva Sanders Circle of Buffalo UMC, and Johnny Sanders Circle of Grace UMC. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 prior to the service at the church. In a lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Union Carnegie Library, 300 East South St., Union SC 29379 or the Union County Family and Community Leaders Scholarship Fund, 120 Kirby St., Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home of her son, William and Rebecca Rochester, 307 Pine St., Union, SC 29379.
