Ned W. Garner

July 3, 2016 Mr. Ned W. Garner, age 76 of 194 Garner Rd., Union, widower of Lois Adams Garner passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Regional Hospice Home. Mr. Garner was first married to the late Valice Marie Haney Garner. Mr. Garner was born in Union, SC August 20, 1939, a son of the late James Hay Fant Garner and Eunice Eva Elrod Garner. He was a former Eagle Truck Driver and was a member of Mt. Joy Baptist Church and a Board Member of Kelly Kelton Fire Department. Surviving are a son, James Garner and wife Megan of Union; a sister, Nancy J. Garner of Spartanburg; three grandchildren: Brandon Garner and wife Alicia of Spartanburg, Bronson Garner and wife Allison of Jonesville and Riley Garner of Union and two step-sons: Brian Lawson and Erik Lawson both of Jonesville. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Porter-Gallman Cemetery conducted by Rev. Alan West and Rev. Glen Ribelin. Active pallbearers will be members of the Union County Fireman's Association Honor Guard. The following are asked to service as Honorary Pallbearers: Former Firemen and Board Members of Kelly Kelton Fire Departments, Brandon Garner, Bronson Garner, Tony Harris, Kevin Garner, Wayne Garner and Richard Kelly. Visitation will be held at the graveside following the service. Memorials may be made to Mt. Joy Baptist Church, 657 Pea Ridge Hwy, Jonesville, SC 29353 or to Kelly Kelton Fire Department, 130 Pea Ridge Hwy, Jonesville, SC 29353. The family is at the home of his son, James and Megan Garner, 180 Garner Rd., Union, SC 29379.
