Ned E. Howell Union, Sc

Mr. Ned E. Howell, age 89, of 245 Ponderosa Dr., Union, widower of Wilma Fowler Howell, passed away, Friday, June 13, 2014 at his home. Mr. Howell was born in Union Co., June 3, 1925, a son of the late Willie and Bridgie McCullough Howell. He was a graduate of Kelly-Pinckney High School and retired from BASF Corporation. Mr. Howell was a devoted member of Mt Joy Baptist Church where his was a member of the Senior Adult Men's Sunday School Class. Surviving are two sons, Stanley Howell and wife Rita of Union and David Howell and wife Linda of Bonaire, GA; a sister, Sara Ann Farr of Jonesville; five brothers, William Howell of Union, Howard Howell of Spartanburg, Herman Howell of Charleston, Billy Howell of Laurens and Donald Hope Howell also of Union; five grandchildren, Crystal Almand, Angel Howell, Ginger Bowman, Jason Howell and Scott Howell and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Howell was predeceased by a sister and four brothers. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, June 16, 2014 at Mt. Joy Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Alan West. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Ned Bell, Douglas Almand, Steve Howell, Tommy Howell, C.W. Garner and Larry Farr. Members of the Senior Adult Men's Sunday School Class of Mt. Joy are asked to sit in a group. Visitation will be from 12:30 until 2:00 PM Monday at the church prior to the services. Memorials may be made to Mt. Joy Baptist Church, 657 Pea Ridge Hwy., Jonesville, SC 29353. The family will be at the home, 245 Ponderosa Dr., Union.
