Nina Sinclair Greer

February 14, 2016 Mrs. Nina Sinclair Greer, age 74, wife of Willie "Ed" Greer, Jr of 611 Sardis Rd., Union, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her family and friends, Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Regional Hospice Home. Mrs. Greer was born in Union, SC February 24, 1941, a daughter of the late Johnny Albert Sinclair and Gladys Carolyn Lee Sinclair. She was a graduate of Union High School and Lander College with a B.S. in Elementary Education. Mrs. Greer earned her Master's Degree from Winthrop College. She was a retired educator with the Union County Schools. Mrs. Greer was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church and a former member of the Union County Council, Union County Mental Health Board and the Union Carnegie Library Board of Trustees. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving in addition to her husband of fifty-two years are three daughters: Martha Sinclair and husband Henry of Columbia, Vickie Sineath and husband Darren of Joanna and Suzan Anderson of Mt. Pleasant; a son, Al Greer and wife Angie of Union; a sister, Rebekah Williams of Cowpens; three brothers: Johnny Sinclair and wife Kathy of Union, Tom Sinclair and wife Kathie of Union and Henry Sinclair and wife Martha of Columbia; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and special friends. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Sardis United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Jeff Farmer and Rev. Dr. James Ivey. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Tommy Sinclair, Cam Fant, Chris Fant, Logan Greer, Caleb Roark and John Sinclair. Visitation will be held 1:00-2:45 PM Tuesday in the church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Sardis United Methodist Church Youth Programs or to the Salkehatchie Summer Programs, P.O. Box 645, Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home, 611 Sardis Rd., Union.
