Norma Ann Hawkins Smith

Mrs. Norma Ann Hawkins Smith, age 79, of 1666 Mudbridge Rd., Jonesville, widow of Paul E. Smith, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Center. Mrs. Smith was born August 22, 1938 in Union County a daughter of the late D.G. Hawkins and Helena Lancaster Hawkins. She was a 1956 graduate of Jonesville High School. Mrs. Smith was a member of West Springs Baptist Church where she was a member of the Adult Choir and the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class. Surviving are two sons, Stanley P. Smith and Mark E. Smith both of Jonesville; one grandson, Brandon P. Smith of Jonesville; one sister, Ethel "Bud" Taylor of Jonesville; two sisters-in-law, Martha Smith and Annice Smith Vaughan both of Georgia; one aunt, Patsy Hawkins Johnson of Jonesville; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Thursday, March 22, 2018 at West Springs Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Greg Black and Rev. Dr. Henry Johnson. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Gary Hawkins, Charles Bennett, Mike Gault, Larry Bennett, Tommy Benfield, and Doran Eaves. The Adult Ladies Sunday School Class of West Springs Baptist Church is asked to sit in a group and form the honorary escort. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM prior to the services at the church. Memorials may be made to West Springs Baptist Church, Building Fund, 4811 Buffalo West Springs Highway, Pauline, SC 29374. The family is at the home of her son, Stanley Smith, 1674 Mudbridge Rd., Jonesville, SC 29353.
