Norma Vaughn Henderson

November 27, 2019 Mrs. Norma Vaughn Henderson, age 88, of 1400 W. Main St., Union, widow of Leo B. Henderson, Jr., passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Henderson was born July 4, 1931 in Gaffney, a daughter of the late Roy Stewart Vaughn and Martha McCraw Vaughn. She was retired from Conso Products. Norma was a Charter Member of New Life Baptist Church, where she served for many years on the hostess and meal bereavement committees. She was happiest when she was in her kitchen and the church kitchen cooking for her loved ones. It broke her heart when she had to step down as her health declined. Recently Norma developed a passion for coloring and spent many hours coloring her pretty flowers. She left a legacy of love and a servant's heart. Surviving are two daughters, Teresa Penland and husband Ronny and Pam Elliott and husband Stanley all of Union; a son, Mike Henderson of Union; two sisters, Jane Jones of Georgia and Annette Jones of Newberry; two brothers-in-law, Bobby "Doc" Henderson of Jonesville and Raeford Pugh of NC; a sister-in-law, Janet Vaughn of Spartanburg; a grandson, Shane Henderson; two great-granddaughters, Summer Owens and Savannah Henderson; three step-grandchildren, numerous step-great-grandchild, one step-great-great-grandchild, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Pugh and a brother, Joe Vaughn. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, November 29, 2019 at New Life Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Shannon Faulkner, Rev. Todd Davis, and Rev. Ron Culbertson. Burial will follow in Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Robert Williams, Jeff Benson, Joey Gregory, Tim Henderson, Paul Sanders, and Robbie Vinson. The Ladies and Men's Senior Adult Sunday School Class and those from Kindred Home that took such great care of her are asked to sit in a group and form the honorary escort. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the services at the church.
