Norman Dean Haney

Mr. Norman Dean Haney, age 75 of 104 Heatherly Dr., Buffalo, widower of Flora Jean Davis Haney, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020 at his home. Mr. Haney was born in Union, August 24, 1944, a son of the late Herman and Sallie Bledsoe Haney. He was a retired textile worker and a member of Putman Baptist Church. Mr. Haney enjoyed music and was an avid song writer. He loved fishing and his Lord. Mr. Haney was a veteran of the US Army having been stationed in Germany. Surviving are two daughters, Gloria Haney of the home, and Cynthia Schulter and husband Chris of Acworth, GA; a son, Thomas Haney and wife Amanda of Union; a sister, Marguerite Herron of Warrenville, SC; six grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; several in-laws, nieces and nephews. Mr. Haney was predeceased by four sisters and five brothers. The family would like to say a special Thank You to the staff and nurses of Spartanburg Regional Hospice for their care of Mr. Haney during his illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at Putman Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Tommy Mann. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Wednesday at the church prior to the services. Memorials may be made to the Norman Dean Haney Fund, P.O. Box 293, Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home of his brother-in-law, Jerry and Kay Davis, 224 Richards St., Union.
