O'Della G. Gibbs

Mrs. O'Della Gallman "Della" Gibbs, age 89, wife of Boyd "Sonny" Gibbs, Jr., of 1135 Kelly Rd., Union, passed away at her home Wednesday, July 17, 2024 after several years of declining health.

Mrs. Gibbs was born in Union, June 2, 1935, a daughter of the late Oetzel and Cleo Adams Gallman. She attended Kelly Pinckney School and graduated from Jonesville High School. Mrs. Gibbs was a retired Bookkeeper. She was first married to the late Willie Rowell Harris.

Mrs. Gibbs was a lifetime member of Bethlehem Methodist Church and had served as Treasurer of the UMW for many years as well as holding other church positions as long as her health permitted.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Wanda Littlejohn and husband Robbie of Jonesville; a son, Myron Harris and wife Rita of Union; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Gault (Chapel and Zoe), Adam Harris and wife Shelley, Malerie Greer and husband Jeffrey; Rob Littlejohn, Aaron Petty and wife Krislyn, and Jessica Gibson and husband Matt; and six great grandchildren, Lilly Harris, Aydin Greer, Wesley Greer, Colton Harris, Kinley Cobb and Allison Gibson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gibbs was predeceased by a son, Lynn Harris, and two brothers, Leroy Gallman and Dean Gallman. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 19, 2024 at Bethlehem Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Lee Coyle and Rev. Chad Ponder. Burial will follow at Gallman Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Friday at the church prior to the services.

Active pallbearers will be Jeffrey Gault, Adam Harris, Rob Littlejohn, Aydin Greer, Stan Gallman, David Gallman, Aaron Petty and Danny Cavender.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the nurses and staff of Providence Hospice for the care, love and compassion given to Mrs. Gibbs during her illness.
