Patricia Derrick Lemmon

Mrs. Patricia Derrick Lemmon, age 82, of Daniel Island, SC, widow of James Murphy Lemmon, Sr., formerly of Union, passed away at her home Sunday, January 17, 2021.

Mrs. Lemmon was born in Newberry, July 2, 1938, a daughter of the late Welton Odell Derrick and Violet Purvis Derrick. She was a graduate of Union High School and attended the University of South Carolina. In 1957, Mrs. Lemmon served as Miss Union. At the age of 43, she returned to school to received a degree in Art from Converse College and became an accomplished artist. She was a former member of the S.C. Artist Guild and the S.C. Pen Women Association. Mrs. Lemmon was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are two sons, Derrick Lemmon and wife Michele of Daniel Island, and Kevin Lemmon and wife Tiffany of Mt. Pleasant; five grandchildren; Madeline Lemmon and Matthew Lemmon both of Daniel Island, Collin Lemmon and Caroline Lemmon both of Mt. Pleasant and Jordan Lemmon of Hilton Head. She is also survived by her beloved cat, Lulu Lemmon. Mrs. Lemmon was predeceased by a son, Murphy Lemmon.

Due to the current COVID crisis, private services will be held by the family.
