Patrick Dennis Russell

Mr. Patrick Dennis Russell age 51, husband of Emily Smith Russell of 103 Brookside Dr., Union, passed away Monday, July 15, 2024.

Mr. Russell was born in Toccoa, GA, April 3, 1973, a son of Dennis C. Russell and Barbara Barnett Russell of Union. He was a 1991 graduate of Union High School and had recently retired from the City of Union Utility Department. Since retiring he operated "Pat and Sons" lawn care.

Patrick was an active member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church where he was a Worship Leader, a Deacon and a member of the choir. He faithfully served his church in many other capacities, especially with his beautiful singing voice. Through the years, Patrick sang with different groups and also performed with his children. He was very active in the activities of his children and was currently the coach of the Union County High School Golf Team.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Madyson Russell; two sons, Mason Russell and Parker Russell; a brother, Stephen Russell and wife Stephanie; his mother-in-law, Penny Smith (Sam White); a sister-in-law, Carrie Smith and husband Kevin and three nephews, Garrison Smith, Grayson Smith and Michael Russell. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father-in-law, Herbie Smith, his maternal grandparents, Oscar and Nathalee Barnett and his paternal grandparents, Willford and Ethel Russell.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Mon Aetna Baptist Church conducted by Pastor Tom Tucker and Pastor Chris Gulledge. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Thursday at the church prior to the services.

Active pallbearers will be Ronald "Boonie" Bailey, Richie Brown, Jamie Babb, Ricky Smith, Jason Smith and Travis Wix.

Employees of the City of Union Utility Department and members of the Union County High School Golf Team and their families are asked to sit in a group.
