October 17, 2018 Mrs. Patsy Lynne Minton Wunch, (RN, CPAN, LMT) age70, of 230 Maple St., Pacolet, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Wunch was born in Union, September 12, 1948, the eldest daughter of the late David and Inez Patterson Minton. She was blessed to be born into the Minton family, where she learned the importance of God's love and love of family. Lynne leaves behind her son, The Reverend Doctor Hans Eric Wunch and his wife, Laurie and grandsons, Micaiah Eric and Silas Judson Wunch. She is also survived by two sisters, Trina Minton Hutchins and husband John and Dale Minton Helms and husband Bryan and a brother, Tim Minton and wife Tammy. Nieces and nephews include: Angie Minton Brasington (Jody, Anna and Elizabeth), Mandie Minton (Jeff), Timothy Minton (Ginger, Case and Gemma), Laura and Walt Hutchins (Kay) and Kirby Helms. Other family members include Linda Wunch Young, Jane Wunch Johnson, Robin Wunch Dill and their families. Lynne was a graduate of Pacolet High School, Greenville General Hospital School of Nursing, and The Whole You School of Massage. She loved her professions and worked in many different positions as she lived in many different states until 1985. She worked in many areas of nursing, in hospitals and in areas outside of the hospitals. In 1985, after moving back to SC, she worked at Lexington Medical Center in Columbia, mostly in PeriOp Division until her retirement in 2007. Suring this time, she continued her membership, that begun in 1984, in ASPAN, a nursing organization for peri anesthesia nurses. She served locally and on the state and national level for many years and in many positions. She served on the national executive committee for 2 years. During that time, she traveled to many states to be present, and encourage national membership and certification. She was awarded a Presidential Ambassador pin. She became one of the first certified Post Anesthesia Nurses in South Carolina and in 1994 was awarded ASPAN'S highest honor, The Presidents' Award. After retirement she moved back to Pacolet and began serving in her home church, Pacolet First Baptist Church, where she spent the first 18 years of her life. She was privileged to play the organ, just as she had done in her teenage years. She also was privileged to help care for her parents and aunt. Her passions included traveling and baking. She traveled as often as possible with family and friends, and sometimes alone. She made and maintained friendships near and far and was very blessed by her friendships. She leaves behind a friend and sister of her heart, Ayawnda Alise of San Diego, CA, and a friend of many years, Ian Sharp of San Remo, Australia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 19, 2018 at Pacolet First Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Tommy Sparks and Rev. Mack McDowell. Burial will be in the Pacolet First Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday evening also at Pacolet First Baptist Church. The family will be at the home, 230 Maple St., Pacolet.
