February 25, 2017 Mr. Paul Olin Lawson, age 78, a man that loved God, his country, his church and his family, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Mr. Lawson was the husband of Lillie Faye Tucker Lawson, of 1883 Mt. Lebanon Rd., Pauline, SC. He was born in Union, November 4, 1938 a son of the late Paul Alfred Lawson and Christine Billings Lawson. Mr. Lawson was a 1957 graduate of Union High School and a devoted member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church where he served on the Homebound Committee. He also was a very proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force having retired after twenty-six years of service including three tours during Vietnam. Surviving in addition to his wife is two daughters, Christy Roche and husband Kenny of Maryland and Angel Wilson and husband Jared of Laurens; a sister, Blanche Gwinn of Pauline; a grandchild, Tanner Roche of Maryland; special grandchildren, Oakley Wilson of Laurens, Austin Tucker and Amberlynn Tucker both of Pauline. Mr. Lawson was predeceased by a brother, Herman Lawson and a sister, Frances Gowan. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, February 27, 2107 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Melvin Shelton. Burial with military honors, will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jared Wilson, Otis Hembree, Ray House, Johnny Kimbrell, Andy Tucker, Don Tucker, Dean Tucker and Wayne Lawson. Members of the Senior Adult Class at Mt. Lebanon Baptist church are asked to sit in a group. Visitation will be held Sunday night from 6:30 until 8:30 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Building Fund, 2153 Mt. Lebanon Rd., Buffalo, SC. 29321. The family will be at the home 1883 Mt. Lebanon Church Rd., Pauline, SC 29374.
