Mrs. Pearline Bailey Adams, age 96, of 201 Pea Ridge Hwy, Jonesville, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Adams was born September 13, 1921 in the Baileytown Community of Union Co., a daughter of the late Wallace T. Bailey and Sally Bentley Bailey. She graduated Valedictorian of Adamsburg School. Mrs. Adams was a member of Foster's Chapel United Methodist Church, where she served as secretary of the Carlisle Hart Sunday School Class for many years, she also enjoyed cooking and serving meals for the Church and being a part of the Senior Citizens Group. Mrs. Adams was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and volunteered with the Union County Voter Registration. She was the last surviving member of ten children. Surviving are two daughters, Linda A. Montgomery and husband Buddy of York and Anita A. Grizzle and husband Jeff of Jonesville; four grandchildren, Wayne Montgomery and wife Janice, Greg Harris and wife Jana, Meka Adams, and Kristen Crosby; five great-grandchildren, Travis, Tabitha, Pike, Lyris, and Kevelyn; one great-great-grandchild, Layne; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one daughter, Becky A. Goings and one son, Wayne Hope Adams. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Foster's Chapel United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Michael Walker and Rev. Glen Ribelin. Burial will follow in Porter-Gallman Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mark Bailey, Richard Adams, Kenneth Adams, Marshall Adams, Dennis Fowler, Terry Bentley, Tim Gregory, and Wayne Belue. Members of the Carlisle Hart Sunday School Class are asked to sit in a group. Visitation will be held 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
