Peggy Joan Henderson

December 20, 2017 Mrs. Peggy Joan Lipsey Henderson, age 84, formerly of Jonesville, widow of Dennis Charles Henderson, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home. Mrs. Henderson was born in Union Co., April 27, 1933, a daughter of the late Willie Austin Lipsey and Mary Pearl Baldwin Lipsey. She was a graduate of Jonesville High School and retired from Milliken and Co., Cedar Hill Plant. Mrs. Henderson was a member of Gilead Baptist Church. Surviving are a grandson, Kenneth Charles Lee of Jonesville; two sisters, Della Whitt of Pacolet and Shirley Moss of Union; one brother, Millard Lipsey of Union; three great-granddaughters reared in the home; and numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece, Susan M. Vanderford of Buffalo. Mrs. Henderson was predeceased by a daughter, Joan H. Guyton and five brothers, Roger, Ronnie, Jerry, Marvin, Joe Leonard and Willie Lipsey, Jr. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, December 22, 2017 at Gilead Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Eddie Saxon. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Friday at the church prior to the services. Memorials may be made to Gilead Baptist Church, P.O. Box 38, Jonesville, SC 29353. The family will be at their respective homes.
