Peggy (Farr) Odell

Mrs. Peggy Farr O'Dell, age 90, of 4357 Lockhart Highway, Union, widow of Harold Dean O'Dell Sr. passed away Thursday June 25, 2020 at her home.

Mrs. O'Dell was born June 25, 1930 a daughter of the late Frank "Buck" Farr and the late Mittie Ruth Vanderford Farr. She was a graduate of Union County Schools and Limestone College. Mrs. O'Dell taught for 34 years at Lockhart Elementary School and taught Literacy in Union. She was a substitute for 20 years also at Lockhart. She was honored as Teacher of the Year at Lockhart and was chosen to have the Lockhart yearbook dedicated to her in 1983. Mrs. O'Dell was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, President of Wesley Chapel Senior Citizens and President of UMW. Mrs. O'Dell was also President of the Lockhart Senior Citizens and was selected as the Grand Marshall of the 2017 Lockhart Christmas Parade.

Surviving are a grandson, Wesley Kyle Greer and wife Lauren of Spartanburg, a great-granddaughter, Kyleigh Elizabeth Greer also of Spartanburg and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. O'Dell was predeceased by a son, Harold Dean O'Dell Jr. and a grandson, Jerimiah Dean O'Dell.

A private graveside service will be held to honor Mrs. O'Dell's life.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to MSA Hospice for their care and love shown to Mrs. O'Dell, especially Amanda, her main nurse.
