Phillip Ray Long

Mr. Phillip Ray "PR" Long, 60, of Rock Hill, SC passed away Thursday, February 7, 2019. Mr. Long was born in Lee County, NC to the late Joseph Ray Long and Evelyn McLawhorn Long. PR was veteran serving in the US Navy as a Machinist Mate 1st Class. Mr. Long was employed with Estes Trucking in South Carolina, was an avid golfer, loved the Carolina Panthers, the Tar Heels and NASCAR Racing. PR was considered the life of the party, dancing around (known by many as "American Legend") and the family knew him as the Grill Master. Mr. Long "PR" is survived by his wife, Cynthia Ivey Long (formerly of Union); his son, Donald Ray Long (Elizabeth) of Broadway and daughter, Michelle Cleary (Jeremy) of Sanford; grandchildren: Harrison Ray Long, Hudson Grant Long, Mary Elizabeth Cleary and Kevin Nicholas Cleary; sisters: Peggy Makepeace of Seven Lakes, Patsy Todd (Jerry) of Memphis, TN, Paula Sue Odagaki of Canada; and a brother, Paul Long of FL. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Rogers Memorial Chapel, Sanford, NC. The family will receive friends 1:00-2:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans, 251 N.
