Mr. Pryor Edward “Babe” Freeman, age 86, of Jonesville, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2026 after a sudden illness.

Mr. Freeman was born in Union, July 16, 1940, a son of the late Alec and Sue Lea Freeman. He attended Union County Schools and worked in the textile industry. Mr. Freeman attended Jonesville Church of God. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He is survived by his companion of 30 years, Sue Williams; nieces, LaJuan F. Lancaster, Jeannine F. McKinney both of Jonesville, Cindy F. Wix of Union, Linda F. Brinson and Debbie T. Dunaway both of Florida, and nephews, Brian Freeman of Jonesville and David Freeman of Tennessee. He was predeceased by sisters, Ruth Bailey, Hilda Timmons; brothers, James “Sleepy”, William “Pete”, Ray “Noonie”, Harold “Bear”, Alec “Buddy” Freeman and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, November 1, 2026 at Crestview Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Josh Freeman. Visitation will follow immediately after the services.
