Rachel Gossett Garner Jonesville, Sc

Mrs. Rachel Gossett Garner, age 82 of 662 Vernon Foster Rd., Jonesville, widow of Hamblin "Ham" Garner, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, November 3, 2014 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Garner was born in Union, November 3, 1932, a daughter of the late Marion Gossett, Sr. and Ruby Lee Gossett. She was a graduate of Jonesville High School and Cecil Business College in Spartanburg. Mrs. Garner retired as owner of Garner Oil where she worked with her husband until his death. She was a member of Fairforest Baptist Church and was affectionately known as "Mema" to many who knew her. Surviving are two daughters, Jane Garner of Jonesville, Martha Fletcher and husband Dennis of Boiling Springs; a son, Truett Garner of Jonesville; a brother, Marion "Brother" Gossett and wife Melissa of Jonesville; grandchildren, Chris Garner and wife Tonya of Atlanta, Crystal Sexton and husband Haskel of Moore and Brandy Kelly and husband Rich of Union; and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Garner was predeceased by a sister, Martha Ann Gossett, a daughter-in-law, Jackie Garner and a great-grandson, Andrew Addis. Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Fairforest Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Allen Gregory and Rev. Carrol Caldwell. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:45 PM in the church prior to the services. Active pallbearers will be Chris Garner, Haskel Sexton, Tom Benfield, Dennis Fletcher, Billy Gossett and Eddie Lawson. The family will be at the home, 662 Vernon Foster Rd., Jonesville.
