Rachel Virginia Hardin

April 26, 2016 Mrs. Rachel Virginia Hughes Hardin, age 88 of 117 Spruce Street, Union, widow of Ralph Memory Hardin, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home. Mrs. Hardin was born in Ellenboro, NC, May 22, 1927, a daughter of the late James Richard Hughes and Flossie Flazor Hawkins Hughes. She retired from McClellans Dime Store and was a member of Union Church of God where she served as church clerk for over forty years. Mrs. Hardin was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are a son, Mike Hardin and wife Connie of Union; two grandchildren: Brian Hardin and wife Trina and Tracey Wade and husband Mark and four great-grandchildren: Payton Deskins, Tanner Hardin, Libby Hardin and Gavin Wade. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Union Church of God. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held 1:30-3:00 PM Thursday in the church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Union Church of God, 1113 Thompson Blvd., Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home of her son, Mike and Connie Hardin, 1475 Peach Orchard Rd., Union.
