Randolph Herman Whitehead

June 8, 2015 Mr. Randolph Herman Whitehead, age 87, of 4476 Lockhart Hwy, Union, SC passed from this earth and went to be with his Lord, Sunday, June 7, 2015 after a brief illness. He was married to the late Doris Willard Whitehead. Mr. Whitehead was born February 9, 1928, a son of the late Howard Franklin Whitehead and Evie Pruitt Whitehead. He was a faithful believer in the Bible and in serving the Lord. He previously owned and operated Union Packing Company for many years and had a love of farming. Mr. Whitehead was a member of Crestview Baptist Church, formerly Westside Baptist Church. He had served as deacon, Sunday School teacher, and on numerous committees while at Westside Baptist Church and continued to serve while at Crestview Baptist Church. He had a love of music and singing songs of faith. Mr. Whitehead is survived by two sons: Charles R Whitehead and wife Karen of Pacolet and Robert T. Whitehead and wife Tiffany of Union; two daughters: Beverly W. Woods of Union and Sandra Whitehead of the home; seven grandchildren: Holly Lawson, Harmony Greer, Ryan Whitehead, Ivy Garner, Paige Whitehead, Jessica Woods and Jeremy Woods; nine great-grandchildren: Will, Isaac and John David Lawson, Norah and Brady Greer, Emma and Abby Garner, Makenna Woods and Ava Grace Whitehead. Mr. Whitehead is also survived by sister-in laws: Edna W. Whitehead of Union and Billy Grace Whitehead of Union. He was predeceased by brothers, W.H., Ben, Ed, and Frank and sisters, Minnie Lawson and Ruth Fallaw. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Crestview Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Josh Freeman and Rev. Guy Langston. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Ryan Whitehead, Jeremy Woods, David Lawson, Brad Greer, Hal Garner, John Fallaw, James Whitehead and Tommy Whitehead. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday evening at the SR Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Crestview Baptist Church, 1100 Furman Fendley Hwy, Union SC 29379. The family is at the home, 4476 Lockhart Hwy, Union.
