Mr. Randy Monroe Medford, age 79, husband of Linda Goforth Medford of 1317 S. Jonesville Hwy., Jonesville, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Medford was born in Buffalo on November 20, 1938 a son of the late James Garland Medford and Ila O'Shields Medford. He retired from the Union County School District as a woodshop teacher and master carpenter. Mr. Medford had also worked with the South Carolina Department of Corrections and the South Carolina Housing Authority. He was a Veteran of the United States Army Reserves as a Master Sargent having served in Desert Storm. Mr. Medford was an active member of New Hope United Methodist Church and the American Legion. Surviving in addition to his wife are, one daughter, Melony Medford Warner and husband Charles of Jonesville; two sons, Jeffery Amos Medford and wife April of Ninety-Six and Randy O'Neil Medford of Greer; an adopted son, Lewis Lesesne Scott and wife Libby of Jonesville; four grandchildren, Elise Cline, Savannah Medford, Katie Medford, and Coleman Medford; one great-grandson, Noah Grimes; a step sister, Marlene Eller Whitehead of Buffalo; and a step brother, Arley Eller of Buffalo; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Bruce Nelson Medford, James Garland Medford, Jr., Jerry Smith Medford and his step-father, James Garland Eller. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Monday, February 19, 2018 at New Hope United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Jim Ivey and Rev. David Clyburn. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Lesesne Scott, Calvin King, Keith "Kebo" Gault, Marion "Brother" Gossett, Mike "Snake" Robinson, and Wayne Yeary. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men's Sunday School Class of New Hope United Methodist Church, members of the American Legion, Wallace and Shirley Russell, Billy and Aileen Gossett, Jerry and Patsy Lawson, Harold and Bobby Jean Lawson, Jim and Teenie Collins, Duck Gossett, Ann Gossett, Prudy and LeWayne Youngblood, Henry and Marlene Sprouse, Laura Burgess Willard, Tommy and Sandra Webber, Dr. Preston Bishop, Dr. Auburn Woods, and Dr. Nalin Srivastava. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church, C/O Brenda Dillard, P.O.
