R.E. Gallman, Jr

Mr. R.E. Gallman, Jr., age 79, husband of Clara Foster Gallman, of 1583 Kelly Rd., Union, passed away Monday, July 9, 2018 at his home. Mr. Gallman was born July 24, 1938 in Union, a son of the late R.E. Gallman, Sr. and Florine Sherbert Gallman. He was retired from Polar Service Center. Mr. Gallman was a lifelong member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. He was a founding member of Kelly Kelton Fire Department where he served on the Board of Directors for 35 years as secretary and treasurer. Mr. Gallman served as Scoutmaster and assisted with Boy Scout Troop 220 and received the Order of the Arrow Award. He was a Master Mason with Mt. Joy Lodge #203, a member of the Union Cattleman's Association, and the Union Soil and Water Conservation. Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Andrea Justice of Union; one son, R.E. "Buddy" Gallman, III of Union; one sister, Betty Atkinson of Union; four grandchildren, R.E. Gallman, IV and wife Ashley of Union, Erin Jones and husband Phillip of Union; Jessica Gallman of Greenville, and John Justice of Union; one great-grandson, Kodi Gallman; one great-great-granddaughter, Becca Gallman of Union. He was predeceased by one sister, Nell Blanton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Dustin Madala and Rev. Mike Scales. Burial will follow at Gallman Family Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be members of the Union County Firefighter's Association Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the H.E. Carter Sunday School Class. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Thursday prior to the services at the church.
