Reba Farr Montgomery

Mrs. Reba Farr Montgomery, age 91, formerly of Adamsburg, widow of Clifton S. Montgomery passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Heartland of Union. Mrs. Montgomery was born in Winchester, TN on May 13, 1924 a daughter of the late Herbert Farr and Lois Adams Farr. She was a graduate of Winthrop College and was retired after 41 years from Union County Schools as a teacher. Mrs. Montgomery was a member of Philippi Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and was active in all phases of church life as long as her health permitted. Surviving are a sister, Carol F. Lawson of Pauline; two nieces, Carla Martin and husband Greg of Moore and Caron Jones of Moore; three great nieces, Rachel Jones, Catherine Renfro and husband Chris, and Kimberly Guthzert and husband Thomas; and a number of nieces and nephews on the Montgomery side. She was predeceased by a great nephew Barrett Martin. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Brad Goodale. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ben Ivey, III, Glenn Ivey, Bobby Horne, Eddie Gibson, Robert Turner, and Ronnie Crocker. Visitation will be held 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
