Rebecca “Becky” (Smith) Helms

Mrs. Rebecca Smith "Becky" Helms, age 82, of 164 Carem Rd., Union, widow of Bobby Helms, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Mrs. Helms was born August 1, 1939 in Union, a daughter of the late William Smith and Virginia "Jenny" Wade Smith.  She was a 1957 graduate of Union High School and was Personnel Manager at Her Majesty for 24 years.  Mrs. Helms had also worked at the Union County Health Department.  She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Kathy Plexico and husband Curtis of Union; a sister, Mary S. McKeown of Union; two grandchildren, Ashley Gough of Union and Allen Plexico and wife Ashley of Spartanburg; six great-grandchildren, Eli and Ethan Gough and Macey, Lucas, Ellie Kate, and Sullivan Plexico; one niece, Elizabeth Kingsmore and husband Vic; and one nephew, Niel McKeown and wife Wendy.  She was predeceased by one niece, Kelly Siltzer and her son Malachi.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Guy Langston.

Visitation will be immediately following the services at the cemetery.
