Rebecca Price Wade

Mrs. Rebecca Price Hembree Wade, age 75, wife of Terry J. Wade of E. South St., Union passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022 at her home.

Mrs. Wade was born in Union, August 14, 1946, a daughter of the late J.C. and Louise Smith Price. She was a 1964 graduate of Union High School and a graduate of Winthrop College. She retired as an industrial engineer after 30 years with Milliken and Co., Monarch Plant. Mrs. Wade began her working career as a secretary at Central School. She was a member of the Union Elk's Lodge where she had served as Treasurer for 18 years. Mrs. Wade was first married to the late Stanley Hembree.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, David Hembree and wife Laura of Union and Jay Hembree of Gastonia, NC; a step-daughter, Whitney W. Phillips and husband Brad of Buffalo; a sister, Michele Phillips and husband Mike of Charleston; four grandchildren, Nathan Hembree, Stella Phillips, Patrick Phillips and Grayson Phillips.

Due to health concerns of family members, private services will be held at a later date.
