Regenia G. Greer

Mrs. Margaret Regenia Garner Greer, age 90, of Springdale Dr., Union, widow of Ralph William Greer, Jr., passed away Saturday, February 11. 2023 at her home.

Mrs. Greer was born in Union, July 24, 1932, a daughter of the late Clem Thompson Garner and Pauline Hughey Garner. She was a 1950 graduate of Union High School and worked for many years as a legal secretary for several local law offices, including Mike S. Jolly which became Jolly and Wilburn, Attorneys at Law.  She later worked for the Law Firm, Long and Powell. She was employed for over 25 years by Union County, in the Clerk of Courts office where she served a number of years as Deputy Clerk and in the Treasurer's office from which she retired in 1994.

Mrs. Greer was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Clyburn-Whitener Sunday School class and the Johnnie Sanders Circle. A talented pianist and organist, she was dedicated to serving the Lord through her music which she did for 75 years. She began playing for prayer services at Green Street Methodist Church at the age of 12. For 19 years she was organist and choir director at Unity United Methodist Church, and for 39 years she was pianist for the Clyburn-Whitener Class at Grace United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Margaret Anthony "Toni" Greer of the home, and Leslie Greer Kiser; a granddaughter, Caroline Greer Kiser; a son-in-law, Jonathan Noel Kiser, Sr. all of Charleston; a sister, Sybil Garner Crow and husband Lynn of Union; two nieces, Cherie Cooke and husband Jeffrey and Amanda Bunton and husband Josh; a nephew, Wesley Hedden all of Union. She was predeceased by a grandson, Jonathan Noel "Jack" Kiser, Jr. and an infant brother, Donald Ray Garner.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 10:30 AM until 12:00 PM at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Private graveside services will be conducted by Rev. Lee Phillips.

Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 201 S. Church St., Union, SC 29379.

The family will be at the home, 402 Springdale Dr., Union.
