Relda Saress Ivey

July 20, 2015 Relda Saress Ivey, 57, of Round Rock, TX, passed away May 6, 2015 of cancer in Seton Medical Center in Austin, TX. Born in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of Robert J. Ivey formerly of Union, SC and the late Judy Parks Ivey. She is also survived by her brother, Robert J. Ivey, Jr., and sister-in-law, Lynn Ivey of Irmo, SC, and nephews, Scott, Steven and Sean Ivey. Her grandparents were the late Weaver and Sara Medford of Buffalo, and Joe and Sallie May Ivey of Union. Relda attended Northwestern University in Chicago and was a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. She was a second and third grade teacher in the Texas school system. Relda loved children and animals, especially her favorite dogs, Coco and Duffy. Her favorite memories were of the summers she spent as a child with her grandparents in Buffalo and Union, with her uncle and aunt, Bo and Charlotte Parks, and her cousins, Holly Parks Coffer of Union, and Jill Parks Jones of Rock Hill. Memorial services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, July 25, 2015 at SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Capt. Chc. USN (Ret.) James E. Doffin. Anyone wishing to acknowledge Relda's life is invited to do so by donating to a cancer research or care center in their community.
