Richard ‘Dickie’ Chesnut

Buffalo, SC Mr. Richard Lee "Dickie" Chesnut, age 73, of 127 Fairforest Heights, Buffalo, widower of Terri Mitchell Chesnut, passed away, Saturday October 29, 2016 at his home. Mr. Chesnut was born in Tifton, GA, March 11, 1943, a son of the late Richard D. Chesnut and Sara Irene Wallen Boozer. He was a graduate of Union High School and retired from Sanders Brothers Construction in Gaffney. Mr. Chesnut was a veteran of the US Navy and was a Mason and Shriner. Surviving are two daughters, Melissa C. McNeace and husband Jamie and Courtney R. Chesnut all of Buffalo; two sons, Richie Chesnut and wife Jennifer of Union and Mickey Chesnut of the home; a very special friend, Gail Heyward of Sumter; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Chris Carr. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Shane Sherfield, Gene Shetley, Mark Shetley, Tracy Tucker, Toby Parker, Brent "Dinky" Knox and Daniel Stewart. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Medi Home Hospice, 720 S. Duncan ByPass, Suite C, Union SC 29379. The family will be at the home, 127 Fairforest Heights, Buffalo and at the home of his daughter, Melissa McNeace, 312 Bailey Rd., Buffalo.
