October 11, 2016 Mr. Richard A. Farmer, age 69, of 140 Whispering Pines Dr., Buffalo, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016 at his home. Mr. Farmer was born on January 30, 1947 in Newberry, SC a son of the late Clyde Farmer and Margie Sanders Farmer. He was a graduate of Union High School where he was an All-Region Football player. Mr. Farmer was retired from Torrington Company and a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Surviving are two sons, Jack Farmer and wife Sara of Charlotte and Matthew Farmer of Union; one sister, Phyllis Ingle and husband Ronnie of Union; one brother, Stanley Farmer of New Mexico; and one granddaughter, Ava Farmer of Charlotte. He was predeceased by one brother, Dennis Farmer. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Crestview Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Josh Freeman, Rev. Brad Goodale, and Rev. Bill Randall. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Thursday prior to the services at the church. Memorials may be made to Crestview Baptist Church, 1100 Furman L. Fendley Hwy, Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home of JoAnn Farmer, 208 Hillcrest Dr., Union, SC 29379.
