Richard Glenn “Richie” Sparks P Sc

Mr. Richard Glenn "Richie" Sparks, age 45, of 1500 Highway 176 Bypass, Pacolet, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Mr. Sparks was born in Union, SC on December 6, 1969 a son of Robert Glenn Sparks and fiancée Connie Sinclair of Union and Yvonne Seiler McAlister and husband James McAlister of Spartanburg. He attended the University of South Carolina at Union and Spartanburg Community College. Mr. Sparks was employed with Kohler as a Robotics Technician and was formerly employed with NASCAR as a Technical Inspector. He attended Potter's House Church. Richie hobbies included fishing, golfing, building and driving race cars, and riding his custom Harley. He was very kind hearted, especially with children. Surviving in addition to his parents are a daughter, Tori Webb; a granddaughter, Kinsley Webb; siblings, Bobby Sparks, Mark McAlister, Crystal McAlister, Amanda Sparks Howard, Tracy Sparks, and Christian Sparks; a special brother, Jimmy Morris; two aunts, Shelia M. Roach and Janice Babb; a number of nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Spanky Sparks. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Potter's House Church conducted by the Rev. Don Moore and Rev. Dr. Jim Ivey and Christian Sparks. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be James Ivey, Jamie Ivey, Jimmy Morris, Christian Sparks, Robbie Quinn, and Tyler Smith. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel. The family is at the home of his mother, 427 Summerland Dr., Spartanburg, SC 29306 and at the home of his father, 130 Hightower Lake Road, Union, SC 29379.
