Mr. Richard J. "R.J." Crocker, age 89, of 180 Crocker's Campground Rd., Union, widower of Donna Lee Crocker, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016 at his home. Mr. Crocker was born in Union, SC on May 9, 1927 a son of the late James Monroe Crocker and Carrie Gregory Crocker. He was a graduate of Union High School and was a retired carpenter. Mr. Crocker served in the Merchant Marine Corps and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Catherine L. Crocker and fiancée Frank Duncan of Union and Cory House of Spartanburg; four sons, Richard Crocker of Union, Douglas Crocker of Roebuck, Christopher Crocker of Rock Hill, and Jamie Crocker of Union; one brother, Frank Crocker of Spartanburg; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three brothers, Alfred Crocker, Ralph Crocker, and Ed Crocker and one sister, Louella Bikle. A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, September 9, 2016 at Fairview Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Guy Langston. The family will receive friends immediately following the services.
