Rita Burgess Chapman

Mrs. Rita Burgess Chapman, age 70 of Brittany Manor Apts., Union, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at her home.

Mrs. Chapman was born in Union, August 15, 1952, a daughter of Lois Bolton Horne of Cross Hill and the late John Burgess. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Spartanburg and was a homemaker who enjoyed reading and playing games.

She is survived by two daughters, Dawn Boggero and Heather Johnson; a son, Anthony Mims and wife Crystal; three grandchildren, John Caleb Johnson, Rebekah Elizabeth Johnson and Emma Rose Mims; two sisters, Gina Burgess and Lajuan Ariel and three brothers, Rex Burgess, Robbie Burgess and Ricky Burgess.

A gathering to celebrate her life will be held at 6:00 PM, Saturday, October 1, 2022, at the Woodruff Community Center, 116 S. Main St., Woodruff.
