Robert S. "Bobby" Fleming

Mr. Robert Stanley "Bobby" Fleming, Sr., age 81, husband of Brenda Smith Fleming of 441 Beltline Rd., Union, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Brookstone Terrace in Woodruff.

Mr. Fleming was born in Union, February 23, 1942, a son of the late Oliver Benson "Benny" Fleming and Myrtle Bogan Fleming. He was a 1960 graduate of Union High School and was a retired truck driver with UPS for over 30 years. Mr. Fleming was a lifelong member of Buffalo Methodist Church and was a member of the Roger Wade Sunday School Class at Tabernacle Baptist Church. He was a member of the Union Jaycee where he had served as president, member of the Union Co. Senior Citizens Group and was an avid Gamecock fan. He was first married to the late Shirley W. Fleming.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Robert S. Fleming, Jr. and wife Sheryl of Lexington, and Blaine Fleming and wife Kathy of Moore; a sister, Cheryl Gregory and husband B.F. of Jonesville; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Bird of Spartanburg; two step-daughters, Wendy McKeown and husband Niel, and Nicole Davis both of Union and a step-son, Clint Smith and wife Melissa all of Jonesville. Mr. Fleming is survived by grandchildren, Jay Amesbury, Patrick Fleming, Dray Davis, Mary Jane Hyslop, Kole McKeown and wife Jordan, Sydney McKeown and Logan Davis; great-grandchildren, Austin and Ashtin Amesbury, Briana Hyslop Jude Klinner and Roan McKeown and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Fleming was predeceased by daughter, Beth Pettis and a brother, Buddy Fleming and wife Mary.

The family would like to say a special Thank You to the staff and nurses of Brookstone Terrace and Agape Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Mr. Fleming and his family during his illness.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Buffalo Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Bogansville United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the church prior to the services.

Active pallbearers will be Sammy Smith, William Smith, Sam White, Roger Wade, Gerald Graham, and Steve Burris. Members of the Aunt "M" Coffee Club are asked to sit in a group.
