Robert E. ‘Bobby’ Garner

February 21, 2020 Mr. Robert Edward "Bobby" Garner, age 66 of Barrell Stave Rd., Clinton, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020 at his home. Mr. Garner was born in Union, October 10, 1953, a son of the late Ralph Eugene Garner and Sara Greene Sprouse. He was a graduate of Union High School and retired as a truck driver. Mr. Garner was a former member of the S.C. National Guard and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are two daughters, Jennifer McAbee and Tammy Avery and husband Ken all of Clinton; a son, Eddie McAbee and wife Deana of Clinton; three sisters, Diane Burgess and husband Dennis of Greer, Opal Loper and Gena Crawford both of Washington; a brother, Lee Bogan and wife Teresa of Portland, TN; his best friend, Mike "Bubba" Sinclair of Union; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Garner was predeceased by two brothers, Marion "Chunky" Garner and William "Big Bill" Garner and his step-father, Henry Earl Sprouse. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, February 24, 2020 at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Robert Jarvis. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Todd Cannon, Jr., Drew McAbee, Matt McAbee, Michael Burgess, Joel Gault and Ty Scott. Visitation will be held from 12:00 until 1:00 PM Monday at the funeral home prior to the services. Memorials may be made to the Robert E. Garner Fund, P.O. Box 293, Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home of his daughter, Tammy and Ken Avery, 1934 Milan Rd., Clinton, SC 29325.
