Robert E. "Bobby" Hicks

Robert (Bobby) Elton Hicks passed peacefully in his home on Monday, December 5. Bobby was born in Union to Robert Hicks and Betty Turner on July 31, 1950 and was raised by his paternal grandmother, Icie May Hicks. He was married to and adored his beautiful bride, Anita Wilson Hicks, for 52 years. Anita now resides at Woodruff Manor.

Bobby is also survived by his daughter, Melanie Fleming and son-in-law Rodney of Whispering Pines, NC and his daughter, Joy Turner and son-in-law Michael of Moore, SC. His prides and joy were his grandchildren Ryan, Christen, Blake, Addyline, and Elias.

Bobby worked in law enforcement serving the citizens of Union County as an officer for both the city and the county. He then had the retirement job of his dreams working with the drag race team, Team Aruba.

Bobby loved and served the Lord faithfully through his church and in his community. His passions, beyond the love he so often proclaimed for his family, were being out on the lake fishing in his boat and riding the roads on his Harley. He also loved his horses and the westerns that were always playing on his television. Bobby never met a stranger, and his larger than life personality will live on in the memories of all those whose lives he touched.

Funeral services will be held at high noon, 12:00 PM, Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Christian Fellowship Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Randy Smith. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
