Robert Cecil Lindler

September 15, 2016 Mr. Robert Cecil Lindler, age 79 husband of Jo Ann Tingle Lindler of 2822 Whitmire Highway, Union, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Lindler was born in Whitmire, SC on October 9, 1936 a son of the late William H. Lindler and Magatha Young Lindler. He was a graduate of Whitmire High School. Mr. Lindler was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the U.S. Air Defense for 21 years. He also retired from Carlisle Finishing as an expediter and was an electrician on the side. Mr. Lindler was a member of Hebron Baptist Church where he was over the Men's Brotherhood. Surviving in addition to his wife of 59 years are two sons, Robert N. Lindler of Texas and Dennis Lindler of the home; one daughter-in-law, Denise Hogan of Union; three grandchildren, Michael Paul Lindler and wife Danielle, Amanda Burrell and husband Mark, and Sam Lindler; five great-grandchildren, Rebecca Lindler, Hallie Burrell, Derek Burrell, Wyatt Lindler, and Gabriel Lindler; a special niece, Evie Knight; and two brothers, William H. Lindler and Jim Lindler and wife Rita. He was predeceased by one sister, Peggy Knight and one brother, Joe Lindler. Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Brian Childers and Mr. David Sinclair. Burial with full Military Honors will follow in the church cemetery. The Hebron Baptist Church Adult Men's Sunday School Class is asked to sit in a group. Visitation will be held 2:30 until 4:00 PM Sunday prior to the services at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hebron Baptist Church, General Fund, 143 Hebron Church Road, Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home, 2822 Whitmire Highway, Union, SC 29379.
