Rev. Roger J. Byrd

Rev. Roger Jewayne Byrd, age 76, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, November 11, 2021. "Call Me Gone"

Rev. Byrd was born in Seneca, SC., a son of the late Claude Thomas Byrd and Ruby Lee Bagwell Byrd McCall.  He retired after 35 years of service with the Church of God. Then, after his retirement from ministry, he valued his, "Time with the Lord".  Rev. Byrd served many different areas throughout his ministry including Jonesville Church of God.

Rev. Byrd was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving is his aunt, Shirley Bagwell of Gray Court; Sylvia Littlejohn of Simpsonville; Mike and April Smith and their children, Cody, and Kenzie Smith all of Campobello; Darrell and Ann Armstrong and his Godchild, Harmony Armstrong, and Cameron Dyer (Kelsey Cooper) and Cory Dyer (Marlena Youngblood).

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Mauldin Church of God conducted by the Rev. Scott Vaughn, Rev. Bobby Johnson and Rev. Gerald Funderburk. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2410 Gentry Memorial Hwy., Pickens, SC 29671.

Active Pallbearers will be Mike Smith, Cody Smith, Ronnie Loftis, Darrell Armstrong, Cory Dyer and Cameron Dyer.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Saturday prior to the services at Mauldin Church of God.

The family will be at their respective homes.
