Mr. Roger Hames Matthews, age 73, companion of seventeen years to Laura Blackwell of 292 Vernon Foster Rd., passed away Friday, November 1, 2024 at Spartanburg Medical Center.
Mr. Matthews was born in Rock Hill, November 15, 1950 a son of the late Rufus Hames Matthews and Ollie Mae Lowery Cottle. He was a retired residential painter.
Surviving in addition to Laura are several children, brothers and sisters including step-children, Laura Blackwell, Nathan Smith and Jonathan Blackwell.
A memorial service will be scheduled by the family for a later date.
