Mr. Roman Aguon Camacho, husband of Beverly June Manibusan Camacho of 240 Hawthorne Road, Union passed away March 19, at the age of 77.
Mr. Camacho was born July 2, 1948, in Saipan, Commonwealth of Northern Marianas, the son of the late Vidal P. Camacho and Maria B. Aguon Camacho. He retired from the U S Army where he was assigned to the Infantry and earned numerous medals and ribbons for his service in active combat and training duties. Mr. Camacho later worked as a groundskeeper for Spartanburg District 6, Dorman High School, then Ace Hardware and the Totem Pole Hunting Supply. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish.
In addition to his wife, Beverly, he is survived by sons, Philip M. Camacho and his wife Erica and Patrick M. Camacho and his wife, Raynalynn, and grandchildren, Athea June Camacho and Tobias Ray Camacho. He is also survived by his in-laws Doris M. Duenas (Tony), Eleanor M. Garrido, Pacita T. Lizama, William T. Cruz (Cecilia), Rita M. Cooper (Gary), Geraldine M. Lominick (Alvin), Jeanette M. DuBell (Robert), Bertha M. Dempsey (Tony), Tommy C. Manibusan, Robbie Brunson, and Sandra M. Bosley (Robert). Mr. Camacho is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving of eight siblings. Mr. Camacho was predeceased by sisters Gregoria C. Cabrera and her husband Juan Cabrera and Vicenta A. Camacho, brothers, Herbert P. San Nicolas and his wife Ignatia M. San Nicolas, Bishop Tomas A. Camacho, Antonio A. Camacho, Francisco A. Camacho and his wife, Isabel Camacho, and Juan A. Camacho and his wife Emilia V. Camacho. He was also predeceased by his in-laws John Garrido, Elmer Lizama, Annie C. Manibusan and Lisa Manibusan.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 103 E. South St., Union, Monday, March 30, 2026, at 1:00 PM conducted by Father James Touzeau. There will be a visitation, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, March 29 at the Holcombe Funeral Chapel, 310 W. South St., Union, SC. Burial will follow the services at Union Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
Active pallbearers will be Paul Dempsey, Bryan DuBell, Rocky Cooper, Michael Camacho, Zachery Manibusan, Peter Salas, Jimmy Garrido and James Bright.
