Ruby B. Hightower

June 28, 2016 Mrs. Ruby Jewel Brown Hightower, age 97, widow of Everett Hightower, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016 at the Lexington Medical Center. Mrs. Hightower was born in Spartanburg Co., January 28, 1919, a daughter of the late Marcus Pumroy Brown and Minnie Nix Brown. She was a graduate of Union High School and retired from the Dept. of Agriculture, Soil Conservation. Mrs. Hightower was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Lexington. Surviving are two sons, George Hightower of Lexington and Everett Hightower of Anchorage, AK; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a dear family friend Linda Todd of Lexington. She was predeceased by a brother, Lon Brown. Graveside services will be held 12:00 PM Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Rosemont Cemetery conducted by Rev. Don Bell
