August 11, 2014 Mrs. Ruby Lee Woolen Palmer, age 90, of 1742 Santuc-Carlisle Highway, Union, widow of Will Hames Palmer, passed away, Sunday, August 10, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Palmer was born in Union, SC on October 3, 1923 a daughter of the late Sandy Alexander Woolen and Willie Pearl Crocker Woolen. She was a graduate of Union High School Mrs. Palmer was an active member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church as long as her health permitted, where she taught the Beginners Sunday School Class for many years and was a member of Faye Teague Sunday School Class. Surviving are two daughters, Myra Palmer McClure of Pacolet and Anne Palmer Brock and husband Gene of Union; a brother, Lewis Woolen and wife Kathaleen of Union; four grandchildren, Mark Vinson and wife Heather of Union, Leigh Anne Arthur and husband Zachary of Union, Lisa Sanders and husband Chris of Pacolet, and Kimberly Davis and husband Tim of Union; eleven great-grandchildren whom she dearly loved, Ross and Isaac Arthur, Logan and Blake Vinson, Bailey, Reid and Christa Sanders, Cayla, Hannah, and Peyton Gregory, and Carmen Davis. She was predeceased by three brothers, Oren Woolen, Paul Woolen, and Elvin Woolen. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Mon Aetna Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Bob Cato and Rev. Ron Gaddy. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens. Active Pallbearers will be Chris Sanders, Tim Davis, Zachary Arthur, Mark Vinson, Logan Vinson, Ryan Palmer, and Barry Palmer. The Faye Teague Sunday School Class is asked to sit in a group. Visitation will be Tuesday Evening, 6:00PM until 7:30PM at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Mon Aetna Baptist Church, 1431 Lockhart Highway, Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home of her daughter, Anne and Gene Brock, 1742 Santuc Carlisle Highway, Union, SC 29379.
